Since the Reaper currently had nowhere to go, he offered to help make bread with Mikel. And when a customer came in for day-old bread to feed the hungry, Mikel had actually baked fresh bread and added a few extra loaves, still not wanting to take any praise for that. And Mikel believed no matter how much good he did, he could never make up for the bad in his past. By making him “flesh”, the Reaper became Mikel’s mate! He also explained that he does not kill he cuts the final thread of a soul and guide that soul to where they believe they are destined to go. Then he pointed to the sigil Mikel had drawn in the flour which is what summoned his new friend. He asked to try the bread that just came out of the oven and was amazed at how delicious it was. He also reassured Mikel that he could not reap souls because he can’t see them right now either. Apparently he had accidentally summoned the Grim Reaper, who knew when he arrived that Mikel had a strong lifeline, although he couldn’t seem to see it right now. Mikel asked him who he was, but he said he wasn’t sure since he never had this physical reaction before. The skeletal body began to fill out and a face smiled at him. Lightning cracked and knocked him to the floor, and a stranger in a hooded cloak was standing there. Now he randomly ran his fingers through the flour like finger-painting, making curves and hard angles as he thought about having someone to share his life with. The countertop was dusted with flour as he worked with the bread dough. He had established a solid life now, a happy and healthy life, but he was ready for a partner, even though he felt he was not worthy because of his past. His shop is thriving from his hard daily work. Mikel Glass liked to keep himself busy with wholesome activities, and continuous breadmaking is the best way to avoid other temptations.
